Psalm 37: 8
“Refrain from anger and give up your rage; do not be agitated, it can only bring harm.”
Just as it says in that verse, no matter what people say or do to us, it will help no one, not even yourself, to retaliate against your enemy. Retaliation can only hurt.
In Proverbs 29:11, it says:
“Fools give full vent to their rage,
but the wise bring calm in the end.”
Fools allow themselves to be overcome by anger. They do not fight it or learn to control it. The wise allow themselves to learn to control their anger and remain calm. Ask God for the wisdom you need to control your anger.
Ephesians 4: 31
“All bitterness, anger and wrath; insult and slander must be removed from you, along with all wickedness. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
As it said in the above lines, no matter what someone does to you, whether physical or verbal abuse, forgive them as Christ has forgiven us. It is hard for us to forgive. This is one of the reasons we need to walk with God daily. If you are walking in God’s presence and according to His Word, then it will not be difficult to forgive.
