A couple of days ago, I asked God how He felt about me. I read through several scriptures in Isaiah and two verses stuck out to me, one where God was angry, and a second verse that showed God’s everlasting devotion and heart of love toward His people. I asked Him which of the two applied to me. Instead of hearing a voice or getting an impression that it was one verse over the other, I discovered, through the Holy Spirit, a secret that distinguished people like Enoch, Abraham and Moses. I would know the answer by faith. And once I discovered the answer, my faith would grow stronger. It’s the glory of God to conceal a matter, and the glory of kings to search a matter out.
He is crazy about me, head over heels in love, and this has far more to do with who He is than who I am.
Are you confident in God’s love for you? Are you aware of it even when you can’t feel it?
If you have never had a strong sense that God loves you right now, ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate your heart and mind as you read these scriptures:
Jeremiah 31:3 “I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”
Isaiah 43:1-2 “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.”
John 16:27 Jesus said, “…the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.”
Romans 8:35-39 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? … Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
