And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord. It shall rejoice in His salvation.
What an amazing promise from God!
There are so many times as we are going through life in which joy is the last thing on our minds. It is hard to find joy when we don’t have enough money to pay that bill, or buy those groceries. There are so many people who try to steal any happiness we have. So many daily stresses keep our minds focused on the negativity around us.
But God wants so much more for his blessed children!
He has given us a spirit of joy. Any situations we are facing here on this Earth have already been overcome in Heaven. We have the wonderful promise of salvation from our Heavenly Father. Each time we feel unhappiness or stress and find ourselves overwhelmed by the things around us, we must spend time with our Father and renew our joy.
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Just as when you are sick or alone during the darkness of the night, He is there. God’s promise is there to help us through until the light of day. His joy is still deep in our souls waiting for us to bring it to light. If we keep our eyes on God in every situation, He will see us through. That is His promise to us. He will bring the morning light. He will send the finances above what we needed for that bill. He will deliver us from that situation on our job or at home. He will send that special person or people so we may surround ourselves with others seeking the very same things in Him. His desire is for His children to be happy, to feel joyful, and not to be sad or overwhelmed.
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
As you focus on the good things around you more and more, you will not see the bad as quickly. You are filling yourself with Godly things and this leaves no room for the negative to come into your heart or mind. When you encounter someone attempting to bring you down, you will be surprised to realize, they no longer have that power! Oh, how wonderful to be free of any influences of that nature! When our eyes stay on God, we are unable to see anything that is not from God. When we are filled to overflowing in God’s Joy, it spills out for others to see. We become as He instructed and are walking as children of light.
1 Chronicles 29:9
Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
In whatever we do, wherever we go, offer all to God willingly. He will fill us with His joy and the blessings we will receive will exceed any we could ever imagine. We will be forever joyful in our Father and nothing could ever be better than that.
