Love

John 15: 9-17

“9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other. “

When you read this scripture, it should be very clear. We are called to love one another as Christ has loved us. Even though we constantly turn our backs on Him and disobey Him, He never turned His back on us. He will always be there for us to come back to no matter what we do against Him. He has an unconditional love for us, and we are called to have an unconditional love for those around us.

Imagine a world where people actually cared about each other. In this world most people only care about themselves. How to get your money so they can try to fill the emptiness inside them(only Jesus Christ can truly fill that emptiness). If we actually started caring for others, we would seek to help those around us. If we seek to help those around us we would spread the story of Jesus Christ. The story of Jesus Christ is what saves us all from the lake of fire.

The actions Jesus Christ made were selfless love. He died for our sins and rose again. The faith we are called to have, faith in Jesus Christ, would mean nothing if He had not risen from the dead.

Why did Jesus die, and why was He raised from the dead?

Romans 4:25

“He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”

What if there was no resurrection?

1 Corinthians 15:13-14

“13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.”

If Christ had not risen again, then our faith is meaningless. Our faith in Jesus Christ is what saves us from the lake of fire.

Where is Jesus?

Colossians 3:1

“1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”

Romans 8:34

“34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”

What is He doing right now?

Hebrews 7:25

“25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”

Romans 8:34

“34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”

All of these things are done toward us by Jesus Christ due to His unconditional love. We have done nothing to deserve the love He feels for us, yet He loves us anyways. Thank God for this unconditional love, and strive to love as Christ did…..

UNCONDITIONALLY
