At the end of ourselves
Is where true prayer begins,
In continual communion with God
To that which there is no end.
For true prayer is a lifestyle
Not merely the utterance of words,
It is the attitude of our spirits
Employing the vehicle through which God is served.
We are to watch in prayer with thanksgiving
And we also are to consistently fast;
Not only for resolution of problems
But by the strength of God’s friendship, we last.
Prayer is integral, not just for one moment.
It’s a place where, with our God, we meet;
Where we submit to His desires
And lay everything at His feet.
As we continue to pray without ceasing
Through our experience with God we transform;
In all honesty and true obedience
To His will, is our own will conformed.
