The entrance of Your words gives light;
It gives understanding to the simple.
~ Psalm 119:13
Have you ever had someone tell you, “Wow, you’ve got a glow to you!” after you’ve spent time with the Lord? Or they’ve said, “You have a very bright aura!”
Have you ever considered that this is a real light coming out from you?
Jesus is the Light of the world. The Father is called the Father of Lights, in whom there is no darkness at all.
The Holy Spirit lives inside of us. When we fill ourselves with His word, usually in a prayerful and humble posture before Him as we read, we fill ourselves with His light.
A perceivable light.
You see, the Christian life isn’t about drumming up a moral lifestyle before the world so that God will be pleased with us. It’s about spending time with the Father of Lights, through His word, through prayer, through fellowship with others. When we spend time with He who is Light, His light fills us and we shine that light before the world. And just as Jesus is the Light of the world, we too become the light of the world (see Matt. 5:14), reflecting his glory!
And what do we need to do? Receive His forgiveness and spend time in His light.
It really is as simple as that!
What can we pray about for you today?
