For those of you who call yourself Christians, are you ashamed to claim your God as holy, and Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? So many people call themselves saved, but act just like all the unsaved people around them. We (Christians) are supposed to be beacons of light in all the darkness of this world. It says in Timothy 1: 8-10

“So do not be ashamed of the testimony about out Lord, or of me His prisoner. Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God, Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our own works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. This has now been made evident through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, Who has abolished death and has brought life and immorality to light through the gospel.”

Do not be afraid of what people will think of you if you claim Jesus as your Lord. Instead live day to day showing how good his mercy is. Rely on the power of God to get you through the day. Do not rely on yourself, for the day we rely on ourselves is the day we fall.

These next two verses are some of my favorites. 116 Clique, a Christian rap group, was actually named after verse 16.

Romans 1: 16-17

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is in God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the jew, and also to the greek. For in it God’s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: the righteous will live by faith.”

Do not be ashamed of the story of our Lord, instead embrace it. We should consider it an honor to be allowed to have the gift of such a sacrifice.
